curlings

These were made with a really neat machine (which I should photograph as well) that cuts angles on the ends of boards. I loved them and had to photograph them. They look sort of like something Weston might have done. I experimented with a bunch of different textured backgrounds, but the two I liked the most were stone, and the shot I took of them just sitting in the car. As I was about to scoop them up I looked and the way the light was hitting them struck me.

My sister has since appropriated them.

  2. Hi,

This time it wasn't that good, mainly because all the food we barbecued got coled/room-temperatured before we got to the eating. But usually yes! When you heat the banana it gets very sweet and is a great contrast to salty food. Barbequed banana, tomato, zucchini and mushrooms. I had sweet potato dip, avocado and home made bagels together with it. And tomato tofu!

  3. Oh, but that looks good too. What is the dressing made of?

No, it's not too hard but there are a lot of steps: First make the dough, then let it yeast, form the dough, let it yeast, boil them, and finally in the oven. So it takes several hours, especially since i'm not a pro in the kitchen.

  4. I can translate and give you my recipe if you want to try. I haven't gotten the perfect smooth surface on them but otherwise I succeeded on the first try and they are truely delicious!

Hm, boiling eggs that way do indeed seem hard. Though I'm vegan so I wouldn't try it. My food interest is so much bigger since I went vegan, it is sooo much more healthful and tasty. And it sort of comes with an interested for healthsome food, if you're a person who cares about what you eat as a start. There are so many recipes and helpful sites on the internet. Makes me happy. Do you eat meat?

  5. Oh, so you're from the US?

Sure, I'll do it some time this weekend.

Oh, I always get so happy when I encounter other vegetarians/vegans! I was a vegetarian for about 3-4 years until I went vegan this autumn (maybe October?).
    I agree!

  6. Here's the recipe. If you make it, please tell ne about the result!

    Bagels (12)
    25 gram yeast
    5 dl water
    0,5 dl bright/white syrup
    2,5 teaspoons salt
    13-14 dl wheat flour
Water + 2 tablespoons sugar for boiling
Optional: sesame, poppy seeds or sunflowers seed (I prefer this)

Comminute yeast in a bowl. Heat the water to 37°C.
Pour the water over the yeast, add syrup, salt, and most of the flour.
Process the dough until it’s tenacious and resilient. Let it yeast for 60 minutes. Process the dough again and cut into 12 pieces, form to bagels (I made like a bun and cut a whole in the middle and formed it this way, to avoid splices).
Put on a baking sheet with oven paper and flour, yeas another 20 minutes. Set the oven to 225°C. Boil the water and sugar in a low and wide skillet.
Boil the bagels, make sure the whole bagel gets wet, with the lid on, for 3-4 minutes. Put back on the baking sheet, sprinkle with seeds and bake in the middle of the oven for about 20 minutes.
